December 18 marks the premiere of highly anticipated Wednesday-Thursday dramas "Miss Korea" and "Man From The Stars".
Actor Lee Sun Gyun stars as a main character in MBC's "Miss Korea", and during the December 16 press conference for the drama, he admits to feeling some pressure on their drama debuting the same time as SBS's "Man From The Stars", which stars Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun. He expressed, "I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry about it."
"The other drama has excellent actors, and because it airs during the dame day, same time slot, I am honestly worried," he admitted. "However, our drama has its own advantages and I believe that "Miss Korea" is up for the competition. With the chemistry of the cast members and the team work of everyone on set, I believe we will excel."
In addition, he commented, "We may be at a disadvantage in the beginning, but you will have to watch to see the charm of the drama. We're not concerned about the ratings, and we're much focused on producing a good drama. Our philosophy is that if we make a good drama, the viewers will grow to appreciate it."
MBC's "Miss Korea" is set in the year 1997, and it is about a group of country employees who work to transform their old classmate into a beauty queen fit to join the Miss Korea pageant.
The drama will air on December 18 at 10PM KST.
