'Melo Movie' Introduces Lee Jun Young as Potential Cast in the Rom-Com Drama
In a news cited by a media outlet on January 17, Lee Jun Young is reportedly to join the lead cast of the forthcoming series "Melo Movie" also known as "Romantic Movie."
"Melo Movie" is a romantic-comedy series about young people who are used to always pretending to be fine in the face of difficulties. Now, they aspire for big change to experience love and fulfill their dreams, yet they still find themselves exhausted from the endless hardships to endure in life.
Lee Jun Young is offered to portray the role of Hong Si Jun, who has dreamed of becoming a genius composed since his school days, but always tried to hide it from his friends. He is said to be a delightful character who believes in himself and has a childish side that helps him to enjoy every moment in life.
Lee Jun Young in Talks to Share the Frame With Park Bo Young & Choi Woo Sik
In 2023, it was reported that Park Bo Young and Choi Woo Sik were also courted to headline the series. The actress is in talks to play Kim Moo Bi, who starts her career as an assistant director and later on fulfills her dream of becoming a film director.
Choi Woo Sik, on the other hand, is Go Gyeom, a promising actor who later on becomes a film critic.
Even though these three stars were already offered to appear in the project, nothing has been decided yet. Their agencies just confirmed that Lee Jun Young, Choi Woo Sik, and Park Bo Young are still reviewing the project offer.
Meanwhile, "Melo Movie" is penned by Lee Na Eun, the brilliant writer who wrote the hit series "Our Beloved Summer."

He will star in TVING's "I Openly Dream of Cinderella." Another exciting drama that is waiting for Lee Jun Young is the second installment of the highly-anticipated series "Weak Hero Class."
The rising actor will also participate in Disney Plus' "Royal Loader" where he is confirmed to team up with Lee Jae Wook and Hong Su Zu.
