During the live-streamed press conference of the JTBC series, the lead star dishes on her thoughts about the reunion project with the South Korean heartthrob as well as returning to medical K-drama.

Park Shin Hye on Her Reunion With Park Hyung Sik

With "Doctor Slump" being her first K-drama project after getting married and giving birth to her first child, Park Shin Hye gets honest and says that there's no change when it comes to her approach to acting.

The actress further explained that her attitude toward acting "has always been consistent."

As for her experience filming "Doctor Slump," the 33-year-old star said she had an "enjoyable" time working because of Park Hyung Sik.

Apart from their closeness, Park Shin Hye revealed that she "received a lot of help" from her co-star.

"He's such a witty actor, which made the whole shooting experience delightful and felt just like before," she said, as obtained by a media outlet.

The upcoming JTBC series is their second project after the 2013 hit K-drama "The Heirs."

In "Doctor Slump," Park Shin Hye portrays the role of anesthesiologist Nam Ha Neul, who is dealing with burnout syndrome, while Park Hyung Sik takes on the character of Yeo Jung Woo.

He is a star plastic surgeon who gets caught up in a strange medical accident.

Helmed by "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" director Oh Hyun Jong with screenwriter Baek Sun Woo of "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," the "Doctor Slump" is a medical romance drama that focuses on the lives of two doctors who have to deal with career and personal challenges by finding comfort in each other.

Interestingly, this is Park Shin Hye's second medical K-drama after the 2016 series "Doctors."

According to her, her new series has a "different kind of growth story."

"While 'Doctors' was about a character who becomes a doctor to uncover a medical accident that killed her grandmother, this time it's about a friend who, burdened by studies and family expectations, experiences burnout and hits rock bottom."

Set to premiere on January 27, "Doctor Slump: airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m. KST.

Viewers get to watch the upcoming medical romance series through JTBC and Netflix.

In addition, the 16-episode drama also features Yoon Park and Kong Seong Ha as lead stars.

In a previous report, the production team hinted at what to expect in the forthcoming K-drama.

Viewers will "witness the story of Yeo Jung Woo and Nam Ha Neul," who are set to reunite after 14 years.
