The highly loved psychological thriller series "Pyramid Game" starring WJSN Bona, Ryu Da In, Jang Da Ah and more finally concluded its season after five consecutive weeks of broadcast.
Due to its complex yet straightforward narrative, fans couldn't get enough of the work and wonder if the webtoon-based work is coming back for a new season.
'Pyramid Game' Receives High Praises Following Conclusion
WJSN Bona's "Pyramid Game" undoubtedly hooked the viewers with its unapologetically straightforward narrative that focused on school violence and how to destroy the system.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, it depicts the story of students who participate in a voting game to avoid being the target of harassment and bullying inside the classroom.
For five weeks, the series exuded great appeal that captivated the viewers. It even became the most streamed work in TVING's history, besting Seo In Guk's "Death's Game."
Although it already concluded, the "Pyramid Game" fever is still high. Many fans, especially those who read the webtoon, wonder whether there will be a second season for the series.
To recall, the show concluded with an open ending when two twin sisters expressed their desire to play the Pyramid Game after WJSN Bona completely destroyed it.
Has 'Pyramid Game' Been Renewed For Season 2?
As of this writing, TVING hasn't renewed "Pyramid Game" for Season 2. There's also no news about a follow-up season yet but due to the favorable reviews, changes could be made.
While every loose thread has been tied in the series, a new narrative could be explored, especially WJSN Bona, Ryu Da In and Jang Da Ah's characters' new lives.
A spin-off could also be possibly made with a set of new characters from the way things ended in the finale. While there's no confirmation yet, fans are all hoping for a follow-up season.
