Lee Jin Wook Accused of Sexual Assault
During the summer of 2016, Lee Jin Wook was accused of sexual assault by a woman. According to reports, the celebrity counter-sued the accuser, claiming it was a false accusation.
Lee Jin Wook was cleared of the charges after the accuser claimed the allegations were false.
Later on, the woman later revealed that police coerced her and that she was sexually assaulted. After facing various trials, showing in the media that Lee Jin Wook was innocent, netizens found everything about the case suspicious.
According to the statements released by the two judges who declared guilty and not guilty, the accuser appeared to have similar reasoning but viewed differently.
One of the judges ruled that the woman was not guilty of a false accusation, in that she did not consent to have s*x, while the other judge declared her guilty for her lack of evidence that Lee Jin Wook r**ed her.
A statement was released explaining that the crime cannot be proven.
"There's room for suspicion that the two people involved had consensual s*x. However, the accuser not wanting s**ual relations are consistent with her testimony and there's a probability that the act took place against the woman's will."
They added that based on the actor's testimony:
"There was no asking of consent for sexual relations nor was consent given by the woman. Due to this, the indictment and crime cannot be proven."
Here's what some netizens are saying about Lee Jin Wook's casting.
- "Nothing is healing about Lee Jin Wook, it's always traumatizing."
- "Another drama with another scandalous actor. I need you to backtrack from this and pick up another script, Hye Sun, unnie."
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Lee Jin Wook should be replaced as the male lead in "To My Haeri"?
