"The Atypical Family" stars Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee dished on their thoughts about each other, and shared their working relationship as they headline the upcoming K-drama.

As the soon-to-be released romance-fantasy teases viewers with the duo's undeniable on-screen chemistry, the lead stars talked about their first impressions of each other.

Ahead of "The Atypical Family" release date, lead stars Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee appeared as guests on the YouTube show "Salon Drip 2," hosted by Jang Do Yeon.

One of the things that they revealed was their almost-instant conclusions about their co-star since this is the first time that they work in the same K-drama.

As mentioned in a report, Jang Ki Yong "liked" Chun Woo Hee "very much" and was thrilled to be working with her.

"She was a senior actress that I always wanted to collaborate with."

Moreover, the actor said that he has seen how his co-star played "strong characters" in her previous works, "but her real-life image was the opposite."

Jang Ki Yong also described Chun Woo Hee as someone who is "so gentle and understanding."

The same went for the actress, revealing that Jang Ki Yong "was warm-hearted externally," even if it was their first encounter.

"He was quiet and hardworking, and he got along with people in a friendly manner."

However, Chun Woo Hee confessed that Jang Ki Yong's age kind of bugged her because of their age difference.

"And it was my first time working with someone younger than me. It bothered me a lot."

"The Atypical Family" lead actress is 37, while her co-star is 31, who has successfully completed his military service in February 2023, making the upcoming K-drama his first project after military discharge.

"The Atypical Family" highlights the life of a supernatural family whose powers vanished because of an incident.

Jang Ki Yong takes on the character of Bok Gwi Joo, who used to be a firefighter exuding positivity but experiences a major slump in his life.

He also has the ability to travel back in time, but he can only do this when he is happy. Unfortunately, due to an incident, he lost his special power.

Joining him as the lead star is Chun Woo Hee, who plays a mysterious woman named Do Da Hae and will have a close encounter with Bok Gwi Joo's family.

Other than the duo, "The Atypical Family" cast also includes veteran actresses Go Doo Shim and Oh Man Seok as Bok Gwi Joo's parents, Claudia Kim as Bok Gwi Joo's sister, and child actress Park So Yi as Gwi Joo's daughter.

Viewers will get to see Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee's chemistry as the drama premieres on May 4 at 10:30 p.m. KST, which will air via JTBC, TVING, and Netflix.
