Born in 1989, Lee Seo-an’s career trajectory is nothing short of inspiring. Initially aspiring to be a flight attendant, she graduated from Korea Aerospace University with a major in Aeronautical Science & Flight Operations.

However, her passion for the entertainment industry led her to debut as an idol in 2009, filling the spot left by Nam Gyu-ri in the girl group SeeYa with their EP album “Rebloom.”

Lee Seo-an's idol journey was marked by persistence despite numerous setbacks. After SeeYa, she took on the role of leader in the co-ed group Coed School.

Despite her leadership, the group faced controversies and ultimately disbanded. Undeterred, she debuted a third time with F-ve Dolls.

Here, she received more recognition, but issues such as poor management and frequent member changes led to the group being labeled as a “recycled group.” After a year, she left the group to pursue solo activities, marking the end of her idol career in 2012.    

Determined to continue in the entertainment industry, Lee Seo-an transitioned to acting. She expanded her career into the Chinese market, starting with Chinese dramas in 2016. In 2017, she began her acting career in Korea in earnest, changing her stage name from “Soomi” to “Lee Seo-an,” a decision she felt would set her apart.

Her breakout role came in the drama “Justice,” where she portrayed Jeong Hae-jin, an ambitious rookie actress. This role significantly boosted her recognition as an actress.

She continued to receive praise for her realistic acting in dramas like “Mystic Pop-up Bar,” “Artificial City,” and “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol.”

In JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Queen of Divorce,” which concluded last March, Lee Seo-an played Ji-in, a conglomerate daughter-in-law with a chilling gaze of revenge. Her stellar presence and stable acting skills firmly established her in the hearts of viewers.

Her performance was widely acclaimed, showcasing her versatile acting abilities. Lee Seo-an continued to shine in Disney+’s “The Impossible Heir,” portraying Jung Ji-sun, the wife of the eldest son of a conglomerate family.

With each role, she continues to gain attention for her standout performances.
