Renowned actress Moon Jeong Hee recently sat down with Ten Asia at a cozy café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss her rigorous lifestyle habits, and the challenges she faced while portraying a complex character in Netflix’s series "The 8 Show."

Despite her demanding schedule, Moon's commitment to her health and fitness remains unwavering.

"The 8 Show" is a captivating drama that tells the story of eight individuals trapped in a secret, multi-level space. Participants engage in a high-stakes game where they earn money as time passes.

The series is adapted from the popular webtoons "Money Game" and "Pygame" by Bae Jin Soo, which garnered 300 million global views.

In the series, Moon Jeong Hee portrays a character on the 5th floor who undergoes significant turmoil while exhibiting angelic tendencies.

Reflecting on her role, Moon Jeong Hee shared:

"Playing this character was challenging. The emotional and physical demands of portraying someone who seeks revenge through drastic means like castration surgery were intense."

Her dedication to her craft is evident, but it’s her off-screen discipline that truly captivates her fans.

Moon Jeong Hee, whose MBTI personality type is ENFJ, revealed her daily routine that keeps her fit and energized.

"Even when I'm at home, I walk 17,000 steps. I walk with my dog for more than 2 hours a day. When I eat, I go out quickly. I have to walk to avoid getting sleepy.

Walking has become a part of my daily life. If I need to exercise, I run. I’ve been running marathons for about 10 years."

Her disciplined approach to fitness is impressive. Moon emphasized:

"I have good forearm muscles, so I need to be strong if I can't control it."

This rigorous routine, combined with the responsibility of walking her 40kg golden retriever Manu, keeps her in peak physical condition.

Aside from her fitness regime, Moon Jeong Hee discussed the broader challenges facing the entertainment industry.

"I don't think it's just a problem with cultural content in general. It's also difficult economically. It seems like there's a global recession. It's a shame that there aren't many dramas or movies that hit us hard."

She went on:

"It's frustrating because I can feel it too. But it's reality. If things are like this, I guess I have no choice but to work hard."

Despite the downturn, Moon remains optimistic and focused, demonstrating her resilient spirit.
