When Choi Jin Hyuk announced his plans to spend Christmas Eve with his "The Heirs" co-star Lee Min Ho, fans may have noted yet again how many kdrama actors are good friends with other actors.

Some actors like Lee Min Ho and Jung Il Woo or Rain and Kim Kwang Min have known each other since they were in school together. Others met on set.

Jung Il Woo and Lee Min Ho were classmates in high school, who grew closer after they were involved in a serious accident together. But he is also close to his "Unstoppable High Kick" co-star Kim Bum. He lists the two as his best friends.

Rain and Kim Kwang Min, who appears in "Golden Rainbow," became friends in high school. They recently joked about their friendship on the Mnet program "Rain Effect."

"Rain was quite popular and successful during his freshman year so he became arrogant and looked down on people," said Kim Kwang Min.

"If this was high school, he would not be able to joke like this," responded Rain. But the two were only kidding around. They have been close since their sophomore year.

Jang Dong Gun, star of "Gentleman's Dignity" has to be one of the friendliest actors in kdrama. He is close to So Ji Sub, Song Seung Hoon, Hyun Bin and Joo Jin Mo, the star of "Empress Ki."

When Hyun Bin was discharged from the Marine Corps last year, he celebrated with his good friends Jang Dong Gun and Joo Ji Min. The three actors play baseball together on a celebrity baseball team, called Play Boys. And Hyun Bin and Joo Jin Mo are frequent guests at jang Dong Gun's house.

Actress Go So Young, who is married to Jang Dong Gun, once described her husband's friends as macho men.

"He always hangs out with such guys," she said. "I don't think he understands girls."

But it's not only male actors who form fast friendships with other actors. Some popular actresses are also close to each other.

Take the case of Gong Hyo Jin, star of "The Master's Sun" and "Pasta." She is friendly with Son Ye Jin, who starred in "Shark" and "Personal Taste."

Gong Hyo Jin teasingly calls her friend Lady Jin.

"She is very honest and funny," said Gong Hyo Jin. "I told her that if her true self came out on variety shows, it would open up a new world of opportunities for her."

Both actresses are so charming it must be fun when they get together.
