On June 5, the much-anticipated sci-fi movie "Wonderland," starring Park Bo Gum and Suzy, finally hit the screen. As it is one of the awaited films this 2024, many were looking forward to it. 

"Wonderland" revolves its story around a virtual platform service called Wonderland, which creates a virtual version of a deceased person through artificial intelligence.

The story follows a group of people using the service to reunite with their late loved ones and communicate with them through video calls.

Following its premiere, the movie critics and viewers have shared mixed reactions about the AI-centric sci-fi film. The comments gathered are from CINE21, theqoo, and CGV.

Movie Critics Dub 'Wonderland' As 'Too Vague,' 'Too Forced,' More

CINE21 is a South Korean film magazine known for its one-liner review platform, and has dubbed "Wonderland" as "too forced," "too vague," and "too loose."

• Critic Jung: "Loosely put together, compensating all the details for mere passion and technology."
• Critic Lee: "This movie unintentionally proves that film is dead and we're living in an era of soulless coding."
• Critic Yoo: "A hard realization of life's imperfections between oblivion and consciousness."
• Critic Park: "Tried to make us cry, ended up getting too vague."
• Critic Kim: "Forcing tears with a cake mix of Zoom and After Life."

Some people on theqoo (online community forum) also expressed their sentiments over the movie.

• "I know how much Park Bo Gum and Suzy put into promoting this movie, but the director cut out a lot of their story. It feels so choppy, what a waste of great cast."
