Hyeri Recalls Being Intimidated By Jung Ho Yeon’s ‘Model Aura’: ‘I Was Scared at First...’

Hyeri talks about her friendship with Jung Ho Yeon and recalls how everything started unexpectedly.

Although she and the "Squid Game" star were both celebrities, they are in different industries.

Jung Ho Yeon has made a name for herself in the modeling world, while Hyeri is in music and acting.

In her latest YouTube video, the "Squid Game" star appeared as Hyeri's guest for her 20th episode.

Bonding over drinks and good conversation, the model and actress teased the "Reply 1988" star, saying that she always sees Hyeri wearing tracksuits at home and felt awkward being with her in a different set-up.

"All of a sudden, we're both sitting here with makeup on, drinking beer."

Hyeri and Jung Ho Yeon Became Close Friends Due to THIS

As the duo talked about random discussions, the production team asked Hyeri how she and Jung Ho Yeon became friends.

According to the Girls' Day member, they first met at the backstage of a concert and fan meeting.

Hyeri also added that she was intimidated to reach out to Jung Ho Yeon because of her model status.

"We just said hello and met because we had common acquaintances, but I was scared at first. I thought she had some kind of model aura that I couldn't approach. But she greeted me actively and said, 'I missed you so much!'"

As for Jung Ho Yeon, it was at the height of the K-drama "Reply 1988," where Hyeri was one of the lead stars.

In addition to this, Jung Ho Yeon's boyfriend, Lee Dong Hwi, was also part of the K-drama.

"The reason is that at the time, she was receiving so much love for the character Deok Sun that I felt a great sense of inner closeness with her," she said, referring to Hyeri's character in "Reply 1988."

In addition to this, she and the singer-actresses easily clicked because they were the same age and, at the same time, had similar personalities.

Jung Ho Yeon reached global fame after joining the mega-hit K-drama "Squid Game."

Interestingly, she is set for her Hollywood debut in the upcoming thriller miniseries "Disclaimer," with top star Cate Blanchett and directed by the renowned Alfonso Cuarón.
