Jung Woo-sung and Jo In-sung, two popular figures in South Korea, have been discussing their single statuses and the topic of marriage in recent weeks, delighting fans.
In recent interviews with different YouTube channels, the two actors expressed their opinions on marriage and the reasons why they had not yet started a family.
Jung Woo-sung, 51, surprised the fans with his revelation during his November 2023 appearance on the singer and YouTuber Sung Si-kyung's channel.
"It's not that I didn't get married. I can't get married. It's because I just missed the timing," he said during the web interview.
Jung also made a humorous remark about a fan confessing her love and asking for marriage during a movie event. She presented the actor with a large blanket with a sheet printed with his proposal.
Jung said, "I was sitting with this blanket over my head, thinking this is a movie event, and then you realize, 'Oh my, this is not a blanket'. When you take a closer look, there is a newspaper, a fan, and this...You shouldn't let it go. I mean, you're trying to do something good, but you shouldn't dream. You'll ruin his life."
He addressed young fans with a grimly pious smile and waved off spotted banners from the smaller fans among the crowd.
During Jo In-sung's recent appearance on comedian Shin Dong-yup's channel, the 43-year-old actor told the interviewer, "I don't know if I didn't get married, or if I couldn't get married".
The actor also quoted his mother pressuring him to finally have children. Jo added that as he got older, his confidence began to wane and competition increased in all aspects of his life.
However, both Jung and Jo twinkle with hopeful smiles. In Korea, actors Lee Seo-jin and Choi Sung-kook got married relatively late, at 42 and 45 years old, respectively. So there is no need to get depressed, as love can be found at any age.
