'Queen Woo' Recap: Episode 7

Episode seven starts with a flashback from six years ago of elders from two families being beheaded. This was a gruesome display from another family to pressure the king to dethrone his queen. The queen's father and the head of the Woo family were brought to the palace. Ji Chang Wook listened to his prime minister, Kim Mu Yeol, and distanced himself from the queen. He believed he was protecting her, but Kim Mu Yeol devised the plan to make the king be hated among the five tribes. The prime minister continued to play the role of loyal advisor.

While he contemplates his next move for revenge, Kim Mu Yeol discovers mercury in the medicinal drink the late shaman had. It gave the faithful fighters at the temple euphoria and hallucinations. He discovers this as he's burning the bodies of the shaman's attackers.

The fourth prince is being deterred from marrying the queen, but he insists on forming a union with her. Jeon Jong Su and Jung Yoo Mi have a fight over the battle of good and evil. The sisters clash over who deserves to be queen. Jung Yoo Mi is determined to stay on the queen's opposite side because she feels her throne was stolen from her. The queen kills her sister in battle and leaves her body there.

The fifth prince asks those within his palace to investigate what is happening among the five tribes. Lee Soo Hyuk, who is the third prince, starts making plans to capture the queen himself. Jeon Jung Su refuses to stay in hiding and chooses to face any danger head-on, and her terrified fourth prince agrees to follow her. She believes Kim Mu Yeol will aid her royal team in battle, and he miraculously backs her up. He believes they have the same vision for the kingdom. The queen announces her intent to marry the fourth prince, but Lee Soo Hyuk's opposition confuses those in the palace. While Kim Mu Yeol confirms a levirate marriage is legal, those in the palace are torn between both sides. The death of the queen's husband and sister is made known to everyone, and she takes the king's seat at the meeting.
