Park Shin Hye plays a demon spirit possessing the body of a human judge in the new series "The Judge From Hell.' This villain role is a drastic change from her previous good girl and positive protagonist characters in romantic comedies. During a recent press conference for the fantasy series, Park Shin Hye describes her feelings about character Kang Bit Na.
"The villains we usually think of harm others or commit serious crimes against society. Rather than a villain, Bit-na is more like a devil - a playful, manipulative being that enjoys twisting situations. She's more like a mischievous imp than a villain," she said in a report by 'The Korea Times.'

'The Judge From Hell' follows the story of a devil who travels from the netherworld to inhabit the body of a judge. Her mission is to murder evil people and take them to hell.
She added, "The script was so fun to read and scenes unfolded in my head as I read. I was more curious about the audience's reaction (to the drama) than about transforming my acting. I've always enjoyed my previous roles, but this one offered a unique opportunity to explore different facets of my personality. The Bit-na character felt multifaceted and I was eager to bring my accumulated experience to this role."

Director Park Jin Pyo, who is from 'Voice of a Murderer' and 'Brave Citizen' movie fame, hopes viewers enjoy the show fully 'as a fantasy action drama where good and evil coexist.'
"We focused on the victims and their families who have had their entire lives taken away. Rather than being a typical legal drama, I hope viewers will watch it as a fantasy action drama where good and evil coexist and find the series to be cathartic."
'The Judge From Hell,' which co-stars Kim Jae Young, Kim In Kwon and Kim Hye Hwa, premieres on September 21 at 10PM KST on SBS TV. It's scheduled to air every Friday and Saturday. The fantasy series will be available for streaming on Disney Plus.
