'No Gain, No Love' Recap Episode 12: Why Are Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae Leading Separate Lives in the Finale?

Episode 12 starts with Shin Min Ah and her foster sisters planning her mother's funeral. She is named chief mourner. During the funeral, many of her mom's foster kids attend to pay their respects. Shin Min Ah places other foster children's names on the chief mourner's list as well. Shin Min Ah's friend even discloses the details about her keeping her baby but breaking up with her boyfriend at the funeral.

After the funeral, Kim Young Dae made a promise to her mother to never let her go, and he plans to keep that promise. She tells him not to be bound by the negative promises he made to her. Later, she breaks down in tears after taking off her pretend wedding ring. Kim Young Dae moves out of her house.

The company holds the education event at the orphanage, and Shin Min Ah is in costume. She won't be sending Kim Young Dae off at the airport. Lee Sang Yi begs Kim Young Dae to stay, but he refuses. The company CEO and manager are there at the airport. At home, Shin Min Ah silently wishes him well after she learns that he's en route. 

Six months later, Lee Sang Yi brags to his father that the company is doing well financially. This means he won the bet, and he can now choose his own wife instead of having an arranged marriage. His father is still against his relationship with Han Ji Hyun. Shin Min Ah's friend is having a successful pregnancy and visits her ex-boyfriend for work. Shin Min Ah's new startup company with Lee Sang Yi's secretary was prompted by her coworker's achievement. 

Lee Sang Yi has been set up on a blind date by his family. Neither one of them is interested in marriage. Han Ji Hyun is at the same hotel meeting her editor and an intern who happens to be her big fan. She is asked to be a guest speaker at a college. During her meeting, she witnesses Lee Sang Yi on a blind date. She has a hilarious accident while trying to confront him, and Han Ji Hyun and Lee Sang Yi are angry at each other during their commute home.

Shin Min Ah's pregnant friend has a promise of a brighter future with her ex-boyfriend, begging to reunite with her. He confirms he's actively preparing for fatherhood. She considers reconciling with him at her surprise baby shower. Shin Min Ah's birthday is also celebrated. Shin Min Ah is heartbroken by the realization that her sisters are now closer to Kim Young Dae than she is. 

Kim Young Dae returns to Korea and inquires about buying Shin Min Ah's childhood home. She makes her real estate agent meet him instead of her. Shin Min Ah and her business partner request Lee Sang Yi invest in their new business. After she leaves his office, she overhears that Kim Young Dae is back in the country for a wedding. 

Han Ji Hyun spots Lee Sang Yi in the college classroom she is giving a lecture in. He calms her nerves, and the lecture is a big success. Later that day, they spend time together, and he gives her a couple rings to make their dating relationship official.

Shin Min Ah mourns the closing of Kim Young Dae's old store. She runs into Kim Young Dae and the store's owner. She congratulates Kim Young Dae on his wedding and shares a fond memory between them.

He demands she explain her comments about his wedding and the memory. Shin Min Ah is grateful she didn't get in the way of his dreams, but she did miss him. He missed living with her and shares that the wedding is for his stepfather. His stepsister is getting married. His wants to buy her child at home as well. He returned to South Korea to follow his heart. A drunk Kim Young Dae is carried home by Shin Min Ah, and the next morning he proudly displays his wedding band. They hug, and she confesses her love for him once more.
