Shin Min Ah is taking the next step in her career. She has chosen to star in a series based on a fantasy web novel. It's a K-drama remake of 'The Remarried Empress.' News about her considering the new project and accepting it was revealed by media outlets today.
Her hit series 'No Gain, No Love' aired its successful finale last week. It remained at the top of Monday and Tuesday viewership ratings throughout its run, and fans are anxious to learn more about her next project.
"Shin Min Ah has been cast in the drama remake of 'The Remarried Empress', playing the role of the main character Navier," 'Allkpop' reports.
They added, "Originally a fantasy web novel, the story is also being serialized as a webtoon. The story centers around an ambitious empress who is cast aside by the emperor. When she learns of the emperor's plans to make his new wife the next empress, she decides to divorce and marry the emperor of a neighboring kingdom."
Earlier in the day, her agency responded to the casting news with positive feedback.
"Shin Min Ah received an offer to star in 'The Remarried Empress' and is currently reviewing it," an AM Entertainment representative said, according to a report from 'Soompi.'
She recently wrapped her hit TVN series 'No Gain, No Love'. It costarred Kim Young Dae, Lee Sang Yi, and Han Ji Hyun. The story is about a woman who wants to secure her job promotion by entering a fake marriage. 'No Gain, No Love' is available for streaming on Amazon's Prime Video.
Shin Min Ah doesn't hold back when it comes to giving it her all in productions. She becomes fully immersed in every character. She explained in a 2020 'Marie Clarie Korea' interview.
"Starting with my debut film, 'Volcano High School.' Now that I think about it, I've really learned a lot of things for my projects. I practiced the cello for 'A Bittersweet Life' even though it wasn't a big part of the film, and I once even fainted for five seconds while I was practicing boxing for the drama 'Punch,'" she said, according to a 'Soompi' report.
She added, "I learned to dance for 'Go Go 70s,' and I went to action school for 'My Mighty Princess.' I was younger back then so I worked really hard while using my strength. I used my whole body in my training, and I played a lot of roles that could only be performed if my body was used to the task. 'Diva' was the same thing. I was determined to pull off the movements, and after pushing myself like that, I came to love it more and it felt like a part of me."
