Korean netizens are reacting shockingly to Son Ye Jin's purported casting in the upcoming Netflix drama "Untold Scandal."
Reports surfaced on October 24 that Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook were supposedly in negotiations to appear in the 2003 movie of the same name, which is based on the classic French novel "Dangerous Liaisons" by Pierre Choderlos.
It is a new series that hopes to re-tell the story of the Joseon Dynasty. Its original film has more than 3 million Korean viewers despite a lack of rating (because of its strenuous content)
While this movie was well received, most fans complain that Son Ye Jin taking up such a role would make it difficult for younger audiences to watch.
In Korean online community forum theqoo, you will find comments such as "Why do they have to ..." and "This is not even a masterpiece. So why?"
This led some users to ask why she was chosen for a project helmed by E J-Yong, director of other adults-only films, including "Eungyo" and "Somebody."
"Son Ye Jin, why? Some begged her not to do it, writing: 'Don't do it please,' one commenter exclaimed, and many echoed that sentiment.
The filming for "Untold Scandal" will reportedly start in March 2025.
