While the Netflix series Mr. Plankton has been a hit for actor Woo Do Hwan, the popular star is turning heads not only with his work but with his sensible views on dating and romance too.
The 35-year-old star, who attracted so many fans with a unique romantic perspective, had once shared it in a past interview.
"If I'm dating, I'll always refer to my girlfriend as 'someone's precious daughter.'" he said. "I man up and treat her with respect," he added.
Woo Do Hwan, who previously rose to prominence in dramas like "The King: Eternal Monarch" and "Mad Dog," noted that he does not participate in the "push and pull" game often played in modern dating.
As he explained, "I can't have a push-and-pull relationship. "I don't even know how to flirt, you know? If I like something, I come out and say it, and if I don't, I say it too.'"
His no-nonsense take on love demonstrates his long-standing belief in honesty and frank communication.
Woo also noted, "I like a good conversationalist– someone who gives me a smile just from their face."
Woo Do Hwan also believes that age does not matter in relationships.
"I have not met anybody older than myself, but that is alright," he said.
"As long as there's no significant age difference that might cause social controversy, I'm open to it.
Many fans have praised Woo Do Hwan for his openness and respect towards women, saying that he will treat his partners in a kind and loving manner.
Audiences are not just attracted to him as Mr. Plankton — they're also inspired by the principles he demonstrates off-screen as well.
