Actor Jung Woo Sung faced a backlash in light of him being revealed as the father of a child born out of wedlock due to the resurgence of old comments he made.
This is according to model Moon Gabi, who revealed on social media recently that she was pregnant and that her biological father was Jung.
In a press release, Jung's agency, Artist Company said: "The child Moon Gabi revealed through her social media is Jung Woo Sung's biological child. We are currently discussing the best way to raise the child, and as a father, I will do my best for the child."
But the announcement has set off a heated public discourse and backlash over the circumstances of the child's birth.
A controversial past interview with the actor has recently resurfaced, in which he reportedly made questionable comments about relationships in an Elle Korea interview in 2004.
He said: "I slept with them because I felt their charm in an instant, rather than looking at their inner self."
He also remarked, "I don't think I looked at women that seriously," indicating that his youthful approach to love was more one-dimensional.

The most provocative line from that conversation was Jung's recollection of a sexual rendezvous: "I slept with her, but it was a bit bland."
This blunt comment became a topic of conversation again, as it has now come up in the context of his recent announcement about becoming a father.
The public reaction is a mixed bag, ranging from support for Jung for his admission to criticism of his previous views of relationships.
A lot of people are asking how what he said before fits into his role as a father.
At 51, Jung is an established actor in film and television, appearing in movies like "A Moment to Remember" and "The Good, The Bad, The Weird."
The media have always speculated about his relationship history and his personal life.
