Lee recently opened up about the recovery from a failed breast augmentation in a YouTube video.

She had previously undergone surgery for a nose lift as well as two double eyelid surgeries without much trouble, but her most recent surgery left her with severe complications.

Lee said she hadn't realized that the procedure she had received — fillers for volume — was actually illegal in Korea.

It was explained to her that the fillers were dissolvable, but she could not dissolve and take the material in as hoped.

In 2023, the beauty suffered pain when her chest hit a barbell during exercise. That impact ruptured the undissolved filler in her left breast.

"It hurt a lot. It was only then that I thought the filler in my left boob had burst,' she said. "If it blew out all at once, I would have noticed right away, but it tore ever so slowly, and I never felt it."

Lee went to the doctors after months of more and more pain and her breasts becoming asymmetrical.

The situation escalated, she explained, throughout a couple of days, with the filler moving to her back.

After the incident, Lee had a revision procedure to remove around 98% of the filler.

Because it was such a painful recovery process, she stated that it kept her from filming videos for one to two months.

Then, she also got the filler removed from her right breast, at a cost of almost ₩10 million KRW (roughly $7,020 USD) in total.

In the video, Lee stressed the need for research before going for cosmetic procedures. She was quoted saying, "Cosmetic procedures are not wrong. But researching is non-negotiable."

Her admission is also an important reminder of the risks cosmetic surgery can pose — and the need to be fully informed before going under the knife.
