Oh Hyun Kyung, a veteran actress, recently talked about her outstanding performing career since being crowned Miss Korea in 1989.

When she appeared on the SBS program "Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy?", she humorously remembered going up against fellow contestant Go Hyun Jung, saying, "Our Hyun Jung was really pretty too... But I came in like a comet," drawing laughter.

Oh Hyun Kyung made her debut in 1988 in the KBS1 drama "Love Blooms Tree" and was crowned as Miss Korea Jin in 1989.

Interest in the pageant was at an all-time high that year, with the broadcast garnering record ratings.

It was precious and beautiful, she said, adding that it had a very competitive atmosphere, not to mention the fact that Go Hyun Jung was stunningly beautiful.

Oh Hyun Kyung went on to reveal her career trajectory in a 2022 appearance on KBS 2TV's "Let's Live Together with Park Won-sook," stating that she took a ten-year break and later started seeing her mentor Moon Young-nam again.

"Go to Namdaemun and buy some proper work pants," Oh Hyun Kyung recalled the elder's words and stressed the need to learn from her seniors.

Looking back on her Miss Korea glory days, she quipped it was her skills on stage that helped her win. "There's just nothing; I just have 'stage skills,'" she said, eliciting laughter.

Oh Hyun Kyung is actively receiving attention on screens these days for her role as Kim Yeon-hee, filled with strong and passionate confrontations, in the MBC drama "When The Phone Rings."

While she gets herself busy juggling through the opportunities with her budding acting career, Oh Hyun Kyung is still a sweetheart of Korea's entertainment industry, sealed with ticklish sense of humor and genuine retrospection.
