Park Sung Hoon pulled out of The Tyrant's Chef after his social media post upset some netizens, who called it inappropriate.

As reported by Sports Chosun, a tvN representative also confirmed to news outlet YTN onJanuary 11, stating, "Despite the first few episodes having fun during the production process, it was arduous overall, and the director and the actor concluded that they would face difficulties continuing further, leading to their agreement to not work on the drama to together."

The rep apologized to the relevant actors and agencies.

The controversy started on December 30 when Park mistakenly posted an advertisement parody of a Japanese AV cover on his social media account with a "Squid Game" concept.

An uncensored picture of a woman's body was quickly taken down. Park explained the post was an accident, saying he uploaded it in error whilst dealing with direct messages and communications with his agency.

In a public apology issued during a promotional interview for "Squid Game 2," Park took responsibility for his actions and said he was sorry for "causing inconvenience to colleagues and fans." He said he is going to learn from it.

"The Tyrant's Chef" is a time travel historical drama where a French cook in the past meets a tyrannical but gourmet king. The series deals with the concept of love that knows no boundaries even after 500 years.
