South Korean musician Choi Minhwan opened up in a candid interview with Dispatch and shared about the personal issues that resulted in his divorce from former idol, Yulhee.

The former couple, who wed in 2017, had their divorce finalized on 8 December 2023.

According to Dispatch, FT Island's Choi Minhwan then went on to accuse Yulhee of neglecting child care and often coming home late.

He said Yulhee slept for a seriously long time, which usually totaled 18-20 hours a day, and added that it was one of the reasons that there were several arguments during their marriage.

"Who could endure this?" Minhwan told Dispatch.

He explained that, although the childcare assistant and his mother helped out, Yulhee sleeping so much became a repeating problem.

According to reports, tensions flared on 1 August 2021 when Yulhee left their house after a row over her sleeping patterns.

Choi, however, attributed their quarrel to his violent insult to her while his mother was still around and that he had taken their firstborn boy to her parents for 10 days

Details of the incident were confirmed through their messages obtained by Dispatch.

He also mentioned how often his wife Yulhee would come home and that, on so many occasions, she would come back late at night or the following morning.

However, it was reported that she did not change even after apologizing and promising to correct her behavior, and Minhwan decided to file for divorce in August 2023.

Now, Minhwan had made a series of personal attacks and centered his attention on Yulhee, prompting her to file a mediation request regarding custody and child support, as well as a request for the separation of properties at the Seoul Family Court.

Yulhee's accusations against Minhwan include going to prostitution houses and that Minhwan's family mistreated her.

Under the terms of the divorce settlement, neither side was to pay alimony or split property.

However, since then, Yulhee has requested 1 billion won property division, as well as 100 million won in alimony, and other demands.

In response to the suspicions of visiting an entertainment establishment, Minhwan clarified, "I went to a karaoke where I had visited alone to celebrate Yulhee's birthday before."

He admitted going to bars in late 2022 but denied anything illegal.

Minhwan responded, "I never did prostitution before. "Yulhee probably thought that was exactly what was the matter, and I can totally get that. I took ownership, apologized, and learned from it."

Things have not gotten any easier, as Yulhee stated that she takes care of the kids the majority of the time.

In response, Minhwan argued that, despite a busy schedule, he has been watching over the children.

Dispatch has contacted Yulhee for a response but has yet to receive an answer.
