In episode 5, we were introduced to new rookie Park Haelin, who immediately grabbed the eye of fans and contestants alike with her glowing visuals and bright confidence.

As soon as Haelin walked in, the panel complimented her tall stature, bubbly demeanor, and beauty.

With an introduction that included the words "easy-going," "cute," "sweet," and "outgoing," it's no wonder that the male contestants all warmed up to Haelin very quickly.

Still, her interactions with the female cast have been a hit or miss.

When introducing herself, she called the other women "unnie," which is the Korean way of saying the feminine counterpart of big brother or older sister.

As people are not allowed to reveal their ages on the island, this wording caused some discomfort on the part of the cast.

Her usage of "unnie" sparked complaints that it was "disrespectful."

Although Haelin justified her action, stating it was a term of endearment, the damage had already been done.

Reactions online have been mixed, with some pointing out that she is a little rude and others raving about her straightforwardness.

Korean netizens' comments on Korean online community forum Theqoo described this division.

One user commented doubtfully about Haelin's magnetism: "I don't know... She seems kinda bitchy LOL."

Another commented on her bright disposition, saying, "She is so bright."

Some complimented her visuals but were displeased with her usage of "unnie," with one saying, "I feel like it rubs me the wrong way when she calls them unnies when she doesn't know their ages at first meeting."

Here's what other Korean netizens in Theqoo are saying:
