Taiwan's "national son-in-law," Koo Jun Yup, has been generating new attention ever since a tell-all interview on a Korean YouTuber's show.

In the wake of mourning Hsu's death less than three years after their marriage, Koo's candid thoughts on their union went viral across the Chinese-speaking world.

Koo said during the interview, as reported by Sports Chosun that one should find a partner who loves them and has a constant heart. He emphasizes the importance of authenticity in relationships and the need for actual interaction for emotional health.

Koo and Hsu's relationship was playful and loving, and they shared many light moments. This was in stark contrast to Hsu's demeanor when she was out with her ex.

Koo has fully adapted to Taiwan and has been taking Chinese classes to communicate with Hsu's family fully.

When asked if he missed Korea, Koo said, "Right now, I'm with the person I love the most, and I'm the happiest."

When asked why he decided to marry her, he was quoted as saying, "I felt I could look after her for life."

Their love story took on another layer of poignancy when they were reunited after 20 years apart. They had originally dated in the late 1990s but separated due to professional interference.

Fans in both Taiwan and Korea were shocked by the news of the passing of Barbie Hsu (48) in Japan on Feb. 2.

Rumors concerning Hsu's inheritance have surfaced since her death. In response to these speculations, Koo said that all the assets owned by Hsu would become the property of her mother and ruled out the rumors of financial disputes.

"I am going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain that feels like my inmost is going to burst. I don't have the strength to say anything, and I don't want to."

He continued, "However, even before the pain of great loss and the time of mourning passed, devilish people began to slander our family and my love."

Hsu and Koo started dating in 1998, but their romance ended quickly because both of their agencies opposed the relationship. The pair reunited and married in 2022, and fans cheered in unison.
