Actress Tang Wei faced scrutiny during a recent interview regarding the controversy surrounding fellow actor Kim Soo Hyun.

The inquiry arose after allegations surfaced from the late Kim Sae Ron's aunt claiming that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the actress while she was a minor.

On March 16, Tang Wei attended the 18th Asian Film Awards. A reporter reportedly asked her if she had been following the news about Kim Soo Hyun.

She responded, "I haven't been paying attention, sorry. I think he once came to a premiere, and I saw him."

When pressed further about whether she kept in touch with him, Tang Wei replied, "Actually, I don't know..."

The reporter then asked if she would consider reaching out to inquire about his well-being. Tang Wei firmly stated, "Actually, I don't know him. Sorry."

This exchange soon went viral on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, where several Korean netizens criticized the media for trying to drag Tang Wei into the scandal.

Among the comments: "This was so unnecessary. What does this have to do with the goddess..." and "Stop asking actresses these boring questions. Nobody wants to be anywhere near a pedophile."

Still, another said, "Tang Wei has posed for photos with many people at different events, so it's understandable that she might not recognize him. Besides, he doesn't merit any interactions."
