Jo Sang Wook played the critical but sympathetic senior doctor in the hit medical drama "Good Doctor." He also gave a convincing performance as the cold-hearted investigator Yeo Ji Hoon in the drama "Ten," which was about criminal cases with less than a ten percent chance of getting solved. Last year he appeared in the film "Days Of Wrath" about a man who was bullied as a teenager and seeks revenge. He also stars in the film "The Huntresses" with Ha Ji Won and he plays a humanitarian IT genius in the upcoming drama "Cunning Single Lady" with co-star Lee Min Jung.

How much do you know about Jo Sang Wook? Here are a few facts.

1. He took the role of the detective in "Ten" because he likes reading thrillers but to convincingly play the role, he watched even more crime-solving dramas and films, including episodes of "CSI" and Japanese dramas.

"I left the rest up to my imagination," he said.

2. He tries to vary the kind of roles he plays so he does not get into a rut.

"I don't like people to think of me as a character from my previous work," said Jo Sang Wook. "I always want to take a role that is different."

In the last year he varied his roles by playing a doctor, a Joseon-era warrior and an IT genius.

"I played similar characters for a long time and the style of my acting began to be similar as well," he said. "I worried that this would keep happening but stopped worrying after I was cast in 'Good Doctor' and 'Days of Wrath.'"

3. His "Good Doctor" co-star Joo Won described him as a candid and eloquent person.

"We always joked around imitating each other's speech," said Joo Won of their shared experience on set. "There are many difficult lines to memorize in a medical drama, whenever Sang Wook hyung said the wrong thing, he would make fun of himself and keep the mood upbeat."

4. Jo Sang Wook's hardest experience as an actor was getting hit even though fake blows do not hurt. That experience happened during his film "Days Of Wrath," when he played a bullied student.

"The scenes where I was hit were really hard," he said. "I felt bad for the character. I even thought 'Why would he be hit so many times?'"

3. The 35-year-old actor does not have a girlfriend, as his career is a priority. But that doesn't stop an A-list actress from openly admiring him.

"It's right that I should think about my career before my personal life," he said. "People ask when I plan to get married but I don't have a girlfriend at the moment. It's not the right time yet."

His "The Huntresses" co-star Ha Ji Won confessed that she found him very attractive.

"He is a funny guy but also very manly," she said. "My heart often flutters when I see him. My heart must be a little weird."

The film will be released this month. The drama "Cunning Single Lady" replaces "Miss Korea' in February.
