Titanfall is not even out yet but it seems that EA is confident enough in the game that a Titanfall DLC is already in the works!
Gamers all assumed there would be Titanfall DLC, but EA has confirmed it's currently working on more content for Respawn's multiplayer shooter for the Xbox One and PC.
"We're planning extra content already for the product," EA boss Andrew Wilson said, "but in the nature of the live service, I think that that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year." Wilson failed to offer any further details on what that content may be.
Although it's not yet clear what form the Titanfall DLC will take, EA CEO Andrew Wilson claimed its plans would 'evolve' to match the behaviours of its playerbase. Respawn has previously said it will not include micro-transactions in the game. Fans can be assured that there won't be micro-transactions and day-one DLC.
In a statement said to Gamespot by producer Drew McCoy, "We're not talking about our plans specifically, but I can say we're not going to have day-one DLC, and we're not gonna have microtransactions or anything like that. We want to make sure people understand we're not going to nickel-and-dime you with microtransactions, and we don't expect you to buy a game, put it in your console, and the first day get asked to spend more money for more content. What you get on the disc is what you bought, and that's how we're going to do it."
Respawn Entertainment head Vince Zampella has made it official that a Titanfall beta is coming for Xbox One and PC.
In a simple tweet, Vince Zampella said, "I'm sure no one has been able to guess from the leaks. PC and XboxOne Beta!"
No further information was revealed though other than a statement of "details in the coming days". There was also no mention of a beta for the Xbox 360 version of the game.
According to an alleged French retailer leak, the developer will host a week-long beta for Titanfall in mid-February. The developers insisted that last week's multiplayer testing was not a beta but "a limited technical test".
Titanfall will be released on March 11. The highly anticipated EA game is considered a key asset for Microsoft and Xbox One as it one of the games the PS4 doesn't have in its library. It will ship on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
