Rovio, a developer for video games said that the Angry Bird site has been hacked with a NSA logo and a 'Spying Birds' slogan.

The hack comes after published leaks suggesting that the GCHQ of Britain and the U.S. NSA spy agency had obtained information of the Finn firm's games.
Saara Bergstrom who is the marketing manager for the Angry Birds website told the BBC, "The defacement was caught in minutes and corrected immediately.
Bergstrom added, "The end user data was in no risk at any point. Due to how the internet name resolution works, for most areas it was not visible at all, but some areas take time for the correct information to be updated.

Saara also noted that the hack was similar to the one made on some of the popular websites during the Syria-U.S.standoff in the chemical weapons debate.
Last year, the Syrian Electronic Army, SEA, hacked prominent sites like The New York Times, Twitter, and the Huffington Post. The SEA took responsibility for the hack in August and had a similar logo of their name.

Angry Birds is a popular video game and has been downloaded a whopping 1.7 billion times.

According to a report, U.S. and British spy organizations like the NSA, where the former agency agent Edward Snowmen worked, routinely check personal data from mobile applications and popular games like Angry Birds.

Among the personal details collected by the National Security Agency are location, websites visited, and contacts. This was released from leaked documents by Snowden.
In a show of remorse over past scrutiny into private information, the NSA had said it is only interested in 'valid foreign intelligence targets.'
A statement from NSA was quoted in a BBC report stating, "Any implication that NSA's foreign intelligence collection is focused on the smartphone or social media communications of everyday Americans is not true.
