Sony has announced the first new upgrade for the PlayStation Mobile app for Android and iOS last Friday.

Since its launch last year, the PlayStation Mobiel app features two new updates that Playstation gamers can really enjoy.

First is the 'Live from PlayStation' tile which gives users the ability to let you view live streams from Ustream and Twitch. Note, though, that Live from PlayStation redirects you to an external Web browser or to the corresponding live-steaming service app to watch a stream, as opposed to letting you view the stream right within the app.

The second update is the PlayStation Mobile app's stability improvements and playback support of video in notification from the PlayStation Store and the app will no longer automatically connect to a PlayStation 4 in standby mode. These are minor updates, but every addition makes the PlayStation App that much more viable as a true second screen experience.

In addition to these new improvements, it allows the PlayStation Network users to check their PSN profile, friends, trophies, messages, and make purchases, among other things, right from their phone or tablet.
