C-JeS Entertainment has pledged to take legal action against netizens who made offensive online comments against JYJ singer and actor Kim Jaejoong.
The entertainment agency contacted the cyber investigation unit at the Gangnam police station and asked the police to investigate the netizens who left hurtful comments on Kim Jaejoong's Twitter account.
A C-JeS representative told Star News that since Twitter's headquarters are located in America, they expect a slight time delay in tracking down the offenders. But they do expect to find each and every offender.
"We will follow investigation protocols and take strong legal action against those who made the comments," said the CJeS representative. The company plans to sue the netizens for slander and defamation.
The comments were offensive enough to harm the singer's career. But it was not just the singer who might be harmed by the comments, as they also concerned one of his sisters and his young niece.
On the C-JeS Facebook page, the company named six netizens who made harmful Twitter comments. The company showed screencaps of the tweets, which called Kim Jaejoong a pervert for kissing his niece and being affectionate with one of his sisters.
Jaejoong is close to all eight of his sisters and they protected him in school when other children bullied him. So it is especially painful to the singer that his sister and niece have been involved in these hurtful comments.
C-JeS asked netizens to consider the psychological pain that such comments would inflict on Kim JaeJoong's entire family.
Everyone is free to make comments about a star, but making slanderous remarks that can damage a person's reputation is a crime. And doing so can result in a jail sentence.
C-JeS has warned those netizens posting comments to stop posting or sharing these or any other offensive remarks.
Also, the company asks fans to help track down the offenders. Anyone who has seen any comments like these is asked to report them to C-JeS Entertainment at webmaster@cjes.co.kr.
