The "Purge 2" teaser trailer has arrived along with confirmation that "Purge 2" will be called "The Purge: Anarchy".

The "Purge 2: Anarchy" trailer begins with Zach Gilford's character and his girlfriend in a car, rushing to get to their destination on the eve of the annual Purge. Their car breaks down, leaving them stuck on the streets as the Purge begins. "The Purge" is about the government starting an annual event which makes all crime legal for a 12-hour stretch of time once a year called "The Purge".

The first film, "The Purge" centered on a wealthy family trying to protect themselves when their house is breached during the Purge. As the trailer for the sequel indicates, "The Purge 2: Anarchy" will focus on a new set of characters trying to survive the Purge.

The trailer showcases the horror of the "purge" while "America the Beautiful" is playing in the background. The words "Your government thanks you for your participation" remind viewers that this "Purge" isn't merely an annual tradition that some people partake in, but a nationwide, government sanctioned event. As it's presented in the original movie, the bizarre twist to the premise is how mainstream it is. People support it and even encourage it, despite the carnage, as they believe the Purge allows people to get those dark tendencies out of their system and that its effects are a benefit to the country.

In addition to the trailer, Universal also launched the official "Purge: Anarchy" website which emphasizes that while "The Purge" is as violent as it can be, it is also an "American tradition".

Written and directed by James DeMonaco, "The Purge 2: Anarchy" arrives June 20, 2014.
