Good news for all of you Xbox One users: the "first" software update has just been released, and it's time for your consoles to have a tune-up!
Last Friday, Microsoft released the first big Xbox One software update, which may have already rolled out to certain users, but is only now available to all due to an unforeseen delay which pushed back its release. Xbox One users can now experience updating their consoles today with the newest features from battery life indicator, USB Keyboard support and more!
The console's new features include support for USB keyboards and a battery life indicator, which will enable users to see how much power their controller has left on the home screen. Storage is another focus of Microsoft's update, making it easier for gamers to view and manage the console's internal storage space, delete saved game and application data and better control the download queue.
Other tweaks include an improved user interface for accessing friends and achievements, Blu-ray enhancements and "significant" performance and stability improvements as Microsoft claims.
Xbox's Major Nelson wrote: "For the vast majority of Xbox One owners who use 'Instant On' (the low power state that allows you to instantly power up your console by saying 'Xbox On'), the console automatically checks for updates when customers turn it off. This means now that we've made the February update available, the next time you turn your console off it will take the update during off-peak hours in your local time."
Regarding the updates, Microsoft stated: "The team has been really excited to see the gameplay on Xbox One and the millions of hours of fun our fans have experienced since launch. We've also been busy listening to your feedback and working hard to incorporate it into Xbox One as soon as possible."
"We remain incredibly energized and we are aggressively working to make Xbox One better, faster than ever before."
