MWC 2014 new releases are the talk of the town in Barcelona. As suggested by Sony's teaser video, the Japanese phone maker released the Xperia Z2 and a tablet to go with it, the Z2 tablet.
It would be like owning two fancy devices that you could use for different purposes - or at least that is what Sony would like you to believe.
Sony has just announced the Xperia Z2,uccessor to the Xperia Z1released in the fall. quite a bit that has changed.
Anandtech takes stock of the changes between the Z1 and the Z2: Have a look.

A couple of easily notable changes is that the battery is a bit bigger to compensate for the bigger display. It also bumped up the capacity to record in 4k/30p and the RAM automatically goes up to rival the Samsung Note 3's 3GB or even the Samsung Galaxy S5's RAM, which is expected to be higher than the S4.
Some analysts are skeptical if the Xperia Z2's "TRILUMINOS Display for mobile with brand new Live Colour LED uses red & green phosphor with blue LEDs and customised colour filters" actually produces a better display.
Instead, the word in Barcelona is that there is little display clarity difference between the Z1 and its successor. "I am skeptical that this actually translates to better display. While it's too early to judge whether display has truly changed from the Z1's display with poor calibration and worse viewing angles, initially it seems that nothing significant has changed," writes Joshua Ho at Anandtech.
Along with the Z2 tab, Sony also released a mid range device dubbed M2 that purportedly rivals the Moto G. Specs for the Z2 tab, and the M2 are shown below:
