iPhone Flappy Bird game clones are hitting app stores by the hundreds, despite regulation by Apple, Google and Android app stores.

Players are still going through the 'withdrawal hangover' after going through the iPhone Flappy Bird game meltdown, when the original games was taken down by its creator, Dong Nguyen.

He justified the removal of the hugely popular game reeling in $50,000 a day as 'I just can't keep going...the game is addictive.' This was after much negative publicity from the media and how Dong's life had become topsy turvy after Flappy Bird became popular.

Post-Flappy Bird game removal from iOS, Android and Google app stores, there were a number of clones emerging on the scene trying to get a share of the Flappy Bird popularity. Pre-installed Flappy Bird games on iPhone were selling like hot cakes on eBay with price tags as high as $99,000! This made the market for Flappy Bird games even more lucrative.

Despite a warning not to list more clones of the original, since it would be considered spam, reports say there were up to 300 clones mimicking the Flappy Bird. And you can bet game developers are having their share of fun with Flappy Bird Miley Cyrus 'Wrecking Ball' Edition, where a YouTube video helps the player get the highest number of points.

After a mid-February release of another Miley-Flappy Bird spinoff, Talo Games was asked to delete "Flying Cyrus - Wrecking Ball," from the iTunes app store by the superstar, singer's attorneys. The game has enjoyed 5 million downloads as of today, according to techcrunch.com.

At this point we have a newcomer to the 'clone' scene and husband and wife team from the Philippines has release 'Pugo,' which is now the top Flappy Bird game clone on the app store. Only now, gamers will have to settle for a pink quail flying into or out of the way obstacles.
