Assasin's Creed Movie 2015: Assassin's Creed fans, get ready for more thrilling parkour moves and violent hack and slash action as the successful franchise and award-winning series by Ubisoft that introduced gamers to perhaps four of the most hardcore video game characters namely Altair, Ezio Auditore, Connor, and Edward Kenway, is now back on track and will finally be adapted into a film.

According to Screenrant.com, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the film and television division of Ubisoft, will be working hand-in-hand with New Regency. The development of a screenplay is already on the works and the project, while allowing Ubisoft to maintain control of key elements of the movie's creative direction. Financial terms of the deal are not being revealed.

Ubisoft's Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Julien Baronnet said, "Ubisoft chose to partner with New Regency because they are a talent- and filmmaker-driven company, with the same independent and creative mindset that we have at Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Bringing aboard New Regency's renowned production and distribution expertise while maintaining our own creative and financial flexibility ensures that Assassin's Creed will be a high-quality film that respects the lore and fans of the video game franchise."

Assassin's Creed will finally get its first feature-length motion picture. As of the moment, the only confirmed cast and crew is Michael Fassbender, who is popular for his role as Magneto on X-Men: First Class and will be reprising the role on X-Men: Days of the Future Past. Critics have speculated that he will play the role of Desmond Miles, the series' main protagonist and the descendant of numerous familial lines that had sworn an allegiance to the Assassins.

It is yet to be known whether Fassbender will play the role of Desmond's Ancestor Assassins as well.

Fassbender said "I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting - the idea of reliving memories."

The film will be produced by 20th Century Fox and its expected release date is on August 7, 2015.
