Is it too early to make a list of the k-drama bests in 2014? Not when it comes to k-drama kisses. Now that it's March, we can sum up the best examples of k-drama lip-locking for the first quarter of 2014.
Topping the list of course are a few of the kisses that were featured in the recent hit drama "You Who Came From The Stars." Those kisses between Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun get extra points because every time alien Do Min Joon kissed Chun Song Yi, he risked his own health.
The best kisses were perhaps the frozen-in-time kiss on the icy lake and the teleporting kiss, when he floated her over. And finally the red carpet kiss at the end defied the laws of physics and the fear of media coverage.
The Heirs also had some excellent kisses, including Lee Min Ho's fantasy kiss with Park Shin Hye, where he imagined their affectionate future together. And then there was the scene where the actor surprised Park Shin Hye with the intensity of his "stay when I tell you to stay" kiss.
Park Shin Hye did not know that their scene was going to end in a kiss so it was all the more dramatic.
"I Need Romance 3" also had a few good kissing scenes, especially the "this is how we start dating" kiss where Sung Joon and Kim So Yeon are on a beach. They were discussing the best way to start dating when he tells her "like this" and kisses her in a way that makes her heart flutter like never before.
"Empress Ki" also had a few good kisses and some of them were lifesaving kisses. There was the underwater kiss scene, which was actually a form of CPR. In that scene Ji Chang Wook helped Ha Ji Won breathe after she was trapped under the water in his rose scented bath. Or the time Ha Ji Won repays the favor by giving Ji Chang Wook the poison antidote by kissing his lips.
"Bride of the Century" also had a sweet kiss when Lee Hongki kissed the woman he thinks is his equally coldhearted fiancée to experience an unexpected shock.
Those are the kisses that immediately come to mind when comparing the first crop of 2014 dramas. The kisses in the rest of the year's dramas may still outdo them.
