It is now the talk of the town that the multi-awarded Playstation 3 hit game "Last of Us" is hitting the big screens very soon.
Speaking with IGN, the game's creator, Neil Druckman revealed the "Last of Us" movie update that everyone wanted to hear: the film will be a complete adaptation of the game.
Druckman confirmed the news about 'Last of Us' movie during the recent BAFTA Game Awards held last March 14: "It's an adaptation of the story of 'The Last of Us'. As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film...we're not sure yet. We're only just scratching the surface."
As if to reiterate the need to make the game bigger than it is, in the same night, "Last of Us" swept the awards night with the most wins, taking home Best Game, Best Action/Adventure, Best Story, Audio Achievement and the Best Performer prize for actress Ashley Johnson.
Though there is still no updates on the " Last of Us" movie cast , Troy Baker has expressed willingness to be part of the franchise again even if he won't reprise his former role.
Baker, who played the male protagonist Joel in the game, revealed his all-out support to IGN:
"I'm 100 percent behind it. If I get a chance to be a hunter or a clicker, I'd be so happy! But even if not I'll participate in watching the film with just as much enthusiasm and excitement as if I was in it."
He even offered reassurance to fans who are worried that the adaptation is a wrong move: "From experience I trust implicitly everyone at Naughty Dog. From Christophe [Balestra] to Evans [Wells] to Bruce Straley to Neil Druckman."
"Joel" actor Troy Baker then concluded, "To everyone who liked that game, you need to trust what they're doing. I know that if it wasn't going to be something that accurately represents that story, they wouldn't do it."
Game developer Naughty Dog has teamed up with renowned director Sam Raimi and his company, Ghost House Pictures to produce the 'The Last of Us' movie project.
