George Clooney and new girlfriend, Amal Alamuddin, were seen leaving a restaurant after dinner in NYC on the evening of March 18, Tuesday. The couple recently returned from a trip together to Africa where they went on a safari in Tanzania. They were also spotted visiting the island of Seychelles.

Clooney and Alamuddin, a successful lawyer, have been friends for a while, but their romance is very new. Rumors of a new relationship swirled earlier this year when Clooney brought her to a screening of "The Monuments Men" at the White House. Alamuddin is currently representing Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, in his extradition case in Sweden.

His newest girlfriend is very different from the women that Clooney was previously dating. Not only does she have no connection to the entertainment industry, but she is a successful, well educated lawyer. Alamuddin was educated at Oxford and NYU School of Law. She is fluent in French and Arabic; she co-wrote a book, "The Law and Practice of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon." Clooney's previous girlfriends have included WWE wrestler-turned-model Stacy Keibler who recently married tech entrepreneur Jared Pobre, and Italian model/reality star Elisabetta Canalis. According to sources, Amal's non-showbiz interests may be what drew the A-list actor to her. One source told People, "He's with someone who is a very accomplished attorney. She isn't someone who is pursuing a career in acting or entertainment. She's on his level."
