Kate Winslet accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday afternoon (March 17). Winslet wore a form-fitting black dress for the unveiling ceremony, which was held outside the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. The British Oscar-winning actress was presented the award by Titanic director James Cameron, Titanic co-star Kathy Bates, and Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley. Also in attendance were Ansel Elgort, also starring in Divergent with Winslet, and Divergent writer Veronica Roth.
The ceremony was Winslet's first official appearance since giving birth to her third child, Bear, back in December 2013. She has two other children from her previous marriage and it was her first child with Ned Rocknroll, whom she married in earlier in the year.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, had previously said: "We are so happy that Kate Winslet will be here on our famous Boulevard of dreams receiving her well-deserved star. We've seen Kate shine in her roles and fans around the world have been anxiously waiting for this special day to come." Winslet's star is the 2,520th to be presented on the famous attraction in Hollywood.
Winslet had been nominated for an Oscar five times before finally winning on her sixth nomination in 2009 for her performance in The Reader. The actress also has two BAFTA awards, two Golden Globes, an Emmy award and a Grammy. Other recent recipients of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame include Julianne Moore and Glee's Jane Lynch.
The actress will next be seen in the highly anticipated film Divergent, also starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, which will hit theaters this Friday March 21.
