'Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes' Short Game: Speed Run Player Completes 'MGS:GZ' In 10 Minutes! Should Players Be Worried About Game Length In The Future?

It seems that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes can't catch a break as not only are people bashing the "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" Xbox 360 version because it won't run on Xbox 360 models with no harddrives! Its short gameplay "runtime" is being a target as well.

One of the issues raised before Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was launched is that it can be completed under two hours. But now it seems that two hours is actually more than enough in finishing the game as one gamer finished it in 10 mins!

Eurogamer has published a video showing that the entire game can be "completed" in 10 minutes.

Importantly, the speedrunner knows exactly what to do, passes over the side mission content, and skips all the cutscenes.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima weighed in on the Ground Zeroes' length controversy in February, saying the game's non-linear approach means players will find it to have a high degree of replayability.

"GZ offers freedom of approach & play style, which we hope players will enjoy over & over without boring," he said at the time. "I believe people will be satisfied with the 'play time' of GZ and will not stress the 'clear time,' which is a standard for linear games."

What do you think? Are developers justifying short gameplay "runtimes" a problem or is it better for the gaming community to have that option? Sound off in the comments below!
