Gwyneth Paltrow Chris Martin Split: Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin tried their best in marriage, but didn't do well as the couple publicized their separation Tuesday over a blog post on Paltrow's website, Goop.
In Paltrow's post titled "Conscious Uncoupling" she wrote, "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."
The couple, a favorite target of the tabloids, has often been the subject of divorce rumors.
As quoted from Washington Post, 'However, celebrity expert antennas were very much up at the Golden Globes, when the couple made a rare appearance together: Martin was nominated for Best Original Song for Coldplay track "Atlas" in "Hunger Games: Catching Fire," and Paltrow was by his side at the ceremony. The fact that Paltrow showed up was a big deal in itself, as they are very infrequently photographed together. "What could it all mean?" that tabloids wondered out loud.'
The Oscar-winning actress, 41, and Coldplay frontman, 37, have been married since December 2003; they have two children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7.
Washington Post reported that Paltrow says that she and Martin "are closer than we have ever been." The end of her message is focused on their kids. It states, "We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner."
The duo celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in December of 2013. Paltrow and Martin have two children together: Apple, 9, and Moses, 7.
According to Time, Paltrow's website crashed shortly after their breakup announcement went live.
