If we go by the footage that was recently released, the "50 Shades of Grey" movie might not be as explicit as the erotica novel.
According to Mirror , fans should probably settle for more romance than ropes, whips, and handcuffs.
This news is coming after a teaser trailer of the screen adaptation of EL James' trending book trilogy premiered at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The Wrap , a movie website, described the trailer as "surprisingly tame." Additionally, it reported that the footage focused very little on the S&M relationship of characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Los Angeles Times suggested the venue of the trailer was to blame.
"It's of course possible some of that footage was of the toned-down sort thanks to the CinemaCon crowd, which can be a more buttoned-up group," it said.
Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, admitted that it was "daunting" to bring the book to the big screen.
When asked how it was done, Langley jokingly said, "Very carefully."
The film, directed by Nowhere Boy's Sam Taylor-Johnson, stars Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan as sexy billionaire Grey, and Melanie Griffith's daughter Dakota Johnson as Steele, the young college student he seduces.
The movie will debut in theaters on Valentine's Day 2015.
