Minecraft players rejoice!
Not only is your favorite game going to be released in PS4 and Xbox One format but a long list of additional features is now being monitored and tested by Microsoft Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment for certification and quality assurance of Minecraft, according to gamespot.com.
4J Studios, the developer behind the console ports of the game, will soon update the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft with new add-ons that are already available in the PC edition.
Called "Title Update 14" or TU14, Minecraft players will soon enjoy a huge amount of new items, including new blocks, potions, and special items like carrot on a stick, which allows you to ride animals for faster travel, upon approval.
Other Minecraft updates include the ability to trade with villagers, new terrain generation features (Desert Temples, Desert Villages, and Jungle Temples), a new Anvil Interface, and a lot more. Minecraft have already disseminated the complete list in their forums.
With the updates being more prominent and wide-ranging, 4J Studios stated that their priority will shift towards the next-generation ports after patching the current-generation versions, according to the Examiner.
In a report from Fuse Joplin, they believed that "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" will be available first in the market before "Minecraft PS4 Edition." The website explained that the reason have something to do with easy portability with Microsoft's new console as it uses the same X86 architecture utilized by the Windows operating system on PC.
MInecraft Xbox One version was also announced several months in advance of the PS4 port. Furthermore, the development team has been releasing more DLC packs for "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" than "Minecraft PS3 Edition," which may only mean that the console developer might be favoring Microsoft's platforms.
Minecraft Xbox One release date for both the PS4 and Xbox One ports have not been revealed.
