Fast & Furious 7 has resumed production after taking a break in December due to its lead star Paul Walker's death. The movie, which is being filmed in Dubai, is back in business, though its release date has been pushed back by eight months for production to recover.

Director James Wan took to social media to make the announcement. He posted a photo on his Instagram account of a clapperboard with the film's name on it. It was accompanied by the caption, "First day back at filming. Better and stronger."

The director and Universal had previously discussed how they will resolve the problem of giving Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, a fitting ending. It was reported that O'Conner won't die, and that he would retire and have a happy ending. Production has found a way to work with the footage Walker had already filmed, as the actor had already finished about half of his scenes before his death.

It has also been reported that Cody Walker, the star's brother, was approached by the film's producers to be involved. He was reportedly in talks to be his older sibling's stunt double. Wan and Universal have not confirmed any of the reports however.

Variety is reporting that screenwriter Chris Morgan has already rewritten the script. The production team however, is still coy about revealing details. They still haven't confirmed nor denied the use of CGI or doubles to address Walker's remaining scenes.

Walker passed away last November 30, 2013 in a fiery car accident. He died with his friend Roger Rodas when the Porsche they were in crashed into a pole and a tree on Hercules Street in Santa Clarita, California. The founder of the non-profit organization Reach Out Worldwide, he is survived by Meadow Walker, his only daughter with ex-girlfriend Rebecca Soteros.
