Orlando Bloom, who recently finished a run of "Romeo and Juliet" on Broadway, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (April 2) in Hollywood, Calif. Flynn, 3,the 37-year-old actor's son with ex Miranda Kerr, was present for the ceremony to support his dad. Supermodel mom Kerr, 30, was on the other side of the world promoting Reebok in Tokyo, Japan. Flynn assisted Leron Gubler, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce CEO, with the roped display during the induction ceremony for Bloom's star. Bloom's star is the 2,521st on the legendary sidewalk of celebrity stars.

During his speech, Bloom gave a special thanks to Kerr. After thanking director Peter Jackson, his manager, publicist, agents and family members, he thanked "Miranda, for giving me the greatest gift of all -- my son." Actor Forest Whitaker, who co-starred in the movie "Zulu" with Bloom, also spoke at the ceremony.

Bloom's first Broadway role in "Romeo and Juliet" wrapped last December. The actor states that his 120 show run on Broadway was exhausting and he slept like "the dead" after he finished the show. Bloom said to Variety about his run as Romeo, "When I was prepping for my Broadway debut as Romeo, it really hit me that I had never done that. I had trained at drama school for three years in my late teens to early 20s, and I'd studied Shakespeare of course, but I hadn't actually performed it. So to do something like Romeo for my first Broadway role was a challenge. ... It was a massive thing for me, with a very eye-opening learning curve."

As for his future, Bloom says to Variety, "I am currently reading a lot of different material. There are a couple of things coming into shape, but nothing I want to talk about just yet. At the moment it's just a process of developing and bringing the characters into place in my mind, so that once the project falls into place I know exactly what to do with it."

Orlando will reprise his elf prince character Legolas for the last time in "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" which will hit theaters on December 17. The movie also stars Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, and Martin Freeman.
