K-drama fans will be well represented at KCON events this year. And although the convention does not have a definite date yet, some of the fun starts today with a live chat on all things Hallyu.

For two years now, the LA-based convention dedicated to "All Things Hallyu" has offered fans a chance to connect with each other and artists in the k-pop and k-drama industry. And this year promises to be better than ever.

The fun starts this week with a live chat that will discuss details of the upcoming convention and offer some appealing prizes to listeners.

The weekly live chats are also a way for fans to offer feedback on what they would like to see happen at the convention. Special guests are expected to make an appearance at upcoming live chats. And there will be a weekly pop quiz segment that fans can participate in to win some pretty impressive prizes. If you are a fan and an expert on the Hallyu, this may be your chance to score a ticket and get a little closer to your favorite k-pop acts. Prizes in the past have included plane tickets to LA, admission tickets to the convention and an opportunity to meet and greet the performing artists.

Last year more than 10,000 fans attended the convention, which featured performances by G-Dragon, Missy Elliott, 2AM, Dynamic Duo, f(x), Teen Top, Hee Jun Han, and the group EXO. Fans also had a chance to learn k-pop dance moves, discuss dramas, buy merchandise and sample tasty food.

Not only did 10,000 fans attend last year's convention, but the convention's Facebook page also reached 6.5 million people. And the convention ranked in the top 10 Twitter trending topics worldwide. Besides several k-pop performances that are yet to be announced, there will also be events for k-drama fans. If you tune in to the live chats, you may hear the updates and lineup as soon as they are announced.

The first installment of the weekly live chat will air on youtube and Google+ Hangout on Air today 5:30 p.m. PT and 8:30 p.m. ET. Fans can weigh in on whether they want the live chat to take place on Thursdays or Fridays. The day is flexible depending on how many fans can participate.
