Supreme was shut down last Friday April 4 during their launch of the Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite 1 collaboration sneakers. There was a rabid sneakerhead crowd spanning several blocks near the Supreme store in Soho. They were all waiting to get a pair of the Supreme x Nike Air collaboration but this release took things to another level. The NYPD asked Supreme to shut down the in-store launch of the shoes due to growing concerns over safety. The official statement from Supreme stated: "Due to concern for public safety, NYPD has forced us to not sell the Supreme/Nike Foamposites and accompanying clothing in our New York Store. These items will be available on supremenewyork.com tomorrow at 11am EST."

After last week's hoopa with Nike Air, Supreme announced that they are doing a new collaboration with the Dead Kennedys, one of the greatest hardcore punk bands of all time. Supreme's vision has always been influenced by music, and the label's past collaborations musicians have included the likes of Lady Gaga, Dipset, Miles Davis, Wackies and The Misfits.

The new Supreme x Dead Kennedys collection will be available in-store and online on April 10. The newest capsule collection will use original artwork from the Dead Kennedys as well as two new original designs. Included in the collection will be a work jacket, a pullover hoodie, sweat shorts, a long sleeve tee, and three graphic T-shirts.

Formed in 1978, the Dead Kennedys are an American hardcore punk band which was an integral part of the punk movement. They tended to tackle political issues with their punk sound, producing tracks called "Kill the Poor," "Holiday in Cambodia," "When Ya Get Drafted." Additionally, the band's single "Too Drunk To F*ck" was the first song on the UK Top 40 to include the F word in the title.
