Walt Disney's upcoming dark fantasy movie, Maleficent has a new poster the design and as we look at it up close, it looks similar to two Disney movies plus some of the creature that are included in the film appear in the poster.
Maleficent is a live-action re-telling of the Disney's 1959 animated movie Sleeping Beauty, and stars Angelina Jolie as the mysterious dark witch Maleficent. The film is focused on the Disney villainess herself but in a more practical matter the new poster for Maleficent is focus here as the designs of the new poster banner looks similar to the banners of two live-action Disney movies; Alice in Wonderland and Oz: The Great and Powerful. Was it coincidence? Well' you'd be the judge.
Here are the posters below.
Maleficent
Alice in Wonderland
Oz: The Great and Powerful
As we can see clearly up close, the three posters have almost panoramic style designs and the main characters are always on the center along with the film's title. The notable difference is that in the Alice poster the Mad Hatter is on the center which was supposed to be Alice since she is the focus of the film, while the Oz poster has four people on the center while the others have a singular person and finally the Maleficent poster features the villain in poster while the others are protagonist.
The Maleficent poster also features a bundle of mythical creatures included in the film. We got sprites, trolls, goblins, and Ents.
Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg. It also stars Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, Sharito Copley as King Stefan, Sam Riley as Diaval and Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, And Lesley Manville as the three pixies in Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent is scheduled to be release on May 30, 2014.
