This weekend, two new dramas reunited artists that previously collaborated in other successful dramas. But so far audiences do not seem very enthusiastic about either offering.

The weekend drama "Angel Eyes" paired actress Gu Hye Sun with the writer of the hit drama "Boys Over Flowers." In that drama she played Geum Jan Di, the plucky girl who takes on F4 and Lee Min Ho. In "Angel Eyes" her co-star is actor Lee Sang Yoon, last seen playing a prince in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji."

The other anticipated re-combination was the second pairing of actors Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae in the drama "Hotel King."

Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae worked together nine years ago in the hit drama "My Girl." When it was known they would be cast together again, many netizens expressed their excitement online.

So far, MBC's "Hotel King" is in the lead. According to the Nielsen ratings, "Hotel King,' reached 11.7 percent on Saturday, and dropped to 10.9 percent by Sunday's viewing. But the SBS drama "Angel Eyes" earned only rated 6.6 percent on Sunday.

Both stories have pretty standard k-drama plots. Young lovers break up and are reunited. Poor guy meets rich arrogant chaebol girl and has to take her down a notch. But the casts are stellar and that usually counts for a lot.

In "Angel Eyes," Lee Sang Yoon plays surgeon Park Dong Joo. When he's young he falls in love with Yoon Soo Wan, a blind girl, but family issues separate them. The blind girl has eye surgery that enables her to see. Determined to give back for her good fortune, Soo Wan becomes an emergency worker. In the course of her work, she runs into Park Dong Joo again. Twelve years have passed but their feelings for each other still remain.

"Angel Eyes" also stars Kim Ji Suk, Jung Ae Ri, and Big Bang's Seungri. Kang Ha Neul and Nam Ji Hyun play the lovers when they are young.

In "Hotel King," Lee Dong Wook plays Cha Jae Wan, the general manager of the Hotel Ciel. He struggled to rise from poverty and achieve his position. But what he does not know initially is that he is the secret son of the hotel's late owner. Lee Da Hae plays Ah Mo Ne, the only daughter of the current owner of the seven-star hotel. She has lived a spoiled sheltered life and does not have a clue about running the hotel. The drama also stars Im Seulong, Lee Deok Hwa and Wang Ji Hye.

Have you seen either drama or do you plan to? Which drama do you think will be a hit? Let us know.
